CogAT^® | BJU Press Testing & Evaluation

Available year-round for grades 3-12, the Cognitive Abilities Test^™ (CogAT) consists of three batteries that provide separate scores for the following reasoning/learning abilities: verbal, quantitative (numerical), and nonverbal.

Verbal abilities covered include verbal classification, sentence completion, and verbal analogies.

Numerical abilities covered include quantitative relations, number series, and equation building.

Nonverbal abilities covered include figure classification, figure analogies, and figure analysis.

The CogAT can reveal what to expect of a student and why a certain subject area may be challenging.

It is recommended to take the CogAT every two or three years. It may be ordered separately or combined with The Iowa Tests^®. These results compare ability with actual school achievement.
